seems pretty clear to me now the best for our sport and us riders/industry is to unite inside IFKO.
An independent federation for an unique sport that will be even bigger with Winter and Summer Olympics.
Great vision
Sailing path is a clear rubish dump... delaying kiters for years

Sailing clearly stopped us for Rio...voting for the windsurfers instead...
Shows how important we are for them...

That's what I meant
Yea, pretty much the same thing....
Yup.
In other news, what a mess this whole thing is. Id like an organixation that can help speak on behalf of kiters and rally where needed, but apart from that all the moaning is just dumb.

Yes and world sailing wouldnt accept kiters could hold a sailing speed record either as they said kiting wasnt sailing..after a kiter beat a sailors top speed.. .lol you see how $$$ corrupts ..
if you got the time to listen to it, it is very interesting. in pre internet days we would never get to know any of this stuff.

It was the same sailing that place us there in the first place

I'll leave the details to you, I'm no one
A higher jurisdiction revert back the initial decision
In fairness the sport was not ready for olympic status so soon

ok here it is
"Note that at the November Conference 2008, ISAF clarified that a kite-powered craft cannot be recognised as the holder of The World Sailing Speed Record."
ISAF is World Sailing. Straight from the horses mouth.
But when they saw $$ and a potential way to increase one of the lowest viewed olympic sports (7th from bottom), hey lets steal kiting... we just need to go back on what we said and use olympic hype to basically hoodwink kiters into supporting us with all these false promises.
This statement from 2008 is going to bite them in the ass in court, big time. You could not get more damning evidence.
Some of us have been into kiting for 20 years+ now, we know the exact history of our sport and it's pioneers. they may be able to pull the wool over the eyes of some of those that do not know the history having not kited for so long.. but we can educate.
"Kiting is not a sailing sport" like isaf ( now world sailing) said. We are kite powered.

And that statement was retracted and kites WERE eligeble to hold the sailing speed record, they did successfully until sail rocket smashed the record out of site.
Quoting an extinct organisation that actually DID recognise kitesurfing as legitimate record holders is somewhat daft.
It’s like saying we should be cool with smoking while pregnant because it was ok back in the day.
Times change, rules change.
At least be current with the evidence not some shit that was successfully overturned by the IKA...
Where were the IFKO when speed sailers were being told no?
