Delamination Survey

Postby hughsheehy » Sun Apr 29, 2018 9:36 pm

After my own recent experience, and talking to several other kiters, delamination of boards seems to be more of an issue than I would have expected. So, curious how much of a problem, I made a survey.

It's here https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/6DLYJCB

Takes less than a minute to complete.

So, if your board has or hasn't delaminated, have a look please.

Lots of replies up already!

Course, getting to a statistically significant number might take a while.

Might be good to post on one of the big kiteboarding groups on facebook for a larger cross-section of the kiter community

Still getting replies on this, but it's tailing off so I thought it might be an idea to bump it back towards the top.

Interesting results so far!

Delamination is due to companies cracking out boards without an understanding of basic materials engineering, it's nothing new. Probably don' t want to pay real engineers/ good factories and they just cross their fingers.

OP I hope you will post the results. It would be interesting to see how much use the boards see as well.

I have a number of boards and I tried to do the survey more than once but that seems problematic..
