Just read this news, that an Italian Kitesurfer, who lives in Brazil, died after crashing from a height of 30 m.

Condolences to family and friends.
Wondering, since the wind report doesn't show any strong wind...how could he get to 30m height?

Translated from your link:
A 37-year-old Italian died while practicing kitesurfing on a beach in Porto Seguro, southern Bahia, on Wednesday afternoon (23). According to police, he was lifted by the wind to a height of about 30 meters and then plunged into the water.
Christian Pesavento had lived in Porto Seguro for seven years. According to the police, four friends who were with him came to rescue him to provide relief, but he could not resist the impact of the fall and died on the spot.
Police said that the victim and his friends intended to go from the beach of the Center of Porto Seguro to Santa Cruz de Cabrália, which are about 25 km from each other.
Christian's body was taken to the Technical Police Department (DPT) in Porto Seguro and should be sent to Italy after the expert. Christian was from Thiene, who is in the province of Vicenza.
Poor man lived there for 7 years and I assume was experienced. Would be interesting to learn what happened for him to be lifted to 30(!) meters. Rest in Peace and condolences to his friends and family.

Googled Porto Seguro - seems to be a narrow beach with high vertical cliffs near the water edge. Maybe a rotor caused by sudden gust picked him up and threw him down? From the google pic it does not seem seguro to me...
