Depends on the LE diameter. Kitesize is irrelevant. But it's a guide, so they generalize by size.
Yes, a better general inflation guide would be 'x' psi per LE diameter.

Why not bend a tip or stand it up and SEE/FEEL it. I guess I don’t get why you would possibly care what a gauge says? Especially a cheap inaccurate one?

I agree, but maybe that’s why they put a range of pressures for each size?
However I’ve used a couple of pumps in recent years across a number of different kites and the readings on both pumps generally read higher than those shown here for the pressures I prefer.
I like pressures on the higher side for max rigidity being a lardarse!

I use the gauge to get me to the point when I know I need to start feeling the LE for the final squeeze test.

Thanks!

I'd assume these were for the current crop of Cabrinha kites, as they are on a Cabrinha pump and not other kite makes.

Probably a safe assumption, badgb21. But it's hard for me to believe that the recommended pressure for a 12m Apollo (long, skinny, high aspect) is the same as for a 12m FX or a 12m Drifter. To achieve adequate structural integrity, wouldn't the Apollo require more pressure?

A lot of kites show the specific recommended pressure ranges for that particular kite on the LE at the inflation valve. That approach makes more sense to me than putting generic pressure ranges for kite sizes on a pump.

GregK you are spot on with your comments. Also watch as inflating to ensure landing edge and struts are filling without pinches.

I know how accurate/ inaccurate my gauge is so pump to the indicated pressure I normally use for the kite then one final "ping" to confirm. Simples.
