Last summer I have seen a prototype bar with a button where you would place your thumb, right next to the middle hole. Click it and push the bar: it shortens the back lines. Click it and pull the bar: it lengthens the back lines. There's some clever engineering behind it. You can click with one hand on the bar, no need to reach the bar end, no need to rotate a lever. If there is no need for a hole in the bar then elegant centrally operated back line length changing systems can be designed.

I have a Wipika bar (came with an "Amp" kite ca. 2003/4) that has a clamp with a hole that routes the CK loop line through it. The idea was that you could slightly rotate the bar in order to lock the length into position. This was considered possibly desirable (a hang-over from 2 line kites).

I once saw a bar that sold 50 cent beers. Best bar Ive been too.
