If there is no need for a hole in the bar then elegant centrally operated back line length changing systems can be designed.

I have a Wipika bar (came with an "Amp" kite ca. 2003/4) that has a clamp with a hole that routes the CK loop line through it. The idea was that you could slightly rotate the bar in order to lock the length into position. This was considered possibly desirable (a hang-over from 2 line kites).

I once saw a bar that sold 50 cent beers. Best bar Ive been too.

It was a game changer.
