Boards & More had a licencing agreement with North Sails to create/run North Kiteboarding. That agreement is now over for whatever reason but B&M own the rights to all the products made under the NKB name. Which means that Rebel, Evo, Dice etc. are now Duotone Rebel, Evo, Dice etc.

Today North Sails announces that the North brand will continue but it is effectively a new player and have poached people from Cabrinha, NP and Ozone from what I’ve read. So North will be back next year but if you like your Rebel, Clickbar and so on, Duotone is where you want to be. Those are the basics. Fun times!

Let say this coming North will release kite from let say its best past models as for example 2011 or 2017 rebel (as their probably have computer files of build), of course with new colors and small improvements, will someone find and feel that this is rebuild/recreated exacly 2011 ir 2017 rebel model ??? :)

Read the post above...
This won't happen. Rebel etc will be Duotone !

New North needs to create new model names and designs.

It should only be called REBEL with 5 line bar & loaded 5th line

What's out now and what will come out in September are imposters

Even worse...it's a now become a Duotone Rebel

What a mess !!

It sounds as if yet another international kite brand will be based in New Zealand.

The logo belongs to North Sails.
I'm not so sure.. If memory serves, given it wasn't B&M or Til Eberle or any of their staff that initially set up North Kiteboarding it was primarily the North American Distributor, then called North Sports in concert with some other distributors that wanted Kite products contrary to the wishes of the powers that be at B&M at the time, so the North Rhino, the promo video, the hiring of ken Winner and Jaime Herrez and the design of the logo were all carried out by them, then the whole thing presented at a distributor meeting where the distributors all agreed to place orders so B&M had no alternative but to go ahead, and so NKB was born despite them and launched in 2001. The key thing about the logo it was quite deliberately unlike the North Sails N/S logo in order to avoid the licence fees the North Windsurfing business had long suffered and given kiting had nothing to do with sailing or windsurfing it was felt it didn't qualify. They must however have been leveraged by NS further along the line, but I wonder if that actually included the transfer of title of the NKB logo, certainly worth investigating if I were a B&M lawyer.

If the North logo doesn't belong to North Sails, that would be very good for DT actually.

If the NKB logo does belong to B&M then why are they using the |> logo?
