my homies that took apart those woos are exploring making a similar device that they say would retail for less than $100. haha, leo is f'ed.
for $100 i might even get one since board mounted seems to be the best and they say it will work with all smartwatches.
I bet kites contain no less than $500 of material. But you don't pay for just the hardware do you....
Well that would be great. I hope they manage.

Well, if you were paying attention, you would have gotten woo 3 for less than $100 already..
Not cheap but sort of reasonable in a world where people pay $40-50 for piece of plastic to mount gopro on the lines..
fo sure but that was a promotion. this is going to their actual price.

CaliRider,
I think your homies are working in the wrong direction..
Rather than deal with design/manufacturing pain, they should write software for iphone (I bet it has same of better gyro chips) and bundle it with rubberized sealed case that mounts on to the board (maybe using the handle screw holes)... Either way, they'll need to do the software part, so it's a huge shortcut.
They can probably find decent market for it, selling the bundle for $50-60
There is still the same issue that started this and many other threads - calibration for each phone version will be different.. so when you post 15m jump on iphone 8, you friends with iphone7 will be skeptical and so are people with woos, xensrs, etc..

why don't you return it?
I am sure woo folks would refund you if you substantiate your claim.
I went this route with Trace.. took some effort to prove that the thing did not detect about 30% of the jumps..
basically, it was obvious from the GPS track that it was missing some jumps, plus I synced it to a video with trace data overlay (they have similar video editing feature as woo)
so, after a few emails back and forth they agreed to refund me.
Sorry, but if you think it's crap and you still keep it -the joke is on you!

Well Deniska, looks like the joke is still on you for pimping Woo when we know it doesn't work properly As ADVERTISED
In Australia we have consumer protection laws that work quite well against those who sell things that do not work as stated
It's on its way back to your Buddies - so they can figure out why in big storm weather, the Woo can't tell the difference between flatwater jumps and jumping off waves Capetown style - same kite same wind same 5 minute time difference that it takes to jump a wall into the flatwater area. 10cm height difference - Farq yeah - im a believer
Especially after having the same happen with Woo 1 version !

my friends say that your comment illustrates that you don't know anything about how the tech works. like as in you couldn't be further from the truth as to why each product works differently. dude its math. but hey, you think your the genius telling us to mount our phones and shizzle to our boards.
