Which is your preferred trim system?

On year two with the Click bar and zero issues other than some line stretch. (normal) The range of bar throw is great, the auto swivel always works, the Iron Heart is reliable and just the bars grip/layout is excellent.
Yeah it's a punch in the dick price wise, but it works with every equal line length compatible kite and it's a quality piece of equipment. I think it's worth it.

Won't go back to clam cleats, big springs, unsafe release systems, frayed depower lines or crap flailing about in my face. That's so 2006.....

Above the bar. I guess clam cleat. But I've never really had issues with any of them, I hardly use the depower while kiting.

Does anyone launch fully powered??? Fully powered means bar pulled fully down! lol

Actually, one of our locals launched unhooked fully powered all the time.

Id like to give the click bar another go. I have only used it for 30 mins and therefore didn't develop any muscle memory. I remember that it took too long to depower and I was struggling to dial in how many turns to get the desired level of depower but the release was quick. I'm sure you'd get the hang of it after a few sessions.

Desired level of power you mean? Twisting the click bar means powering up. The release button is for instant depower.

I like no trim, aka the BRM CCS system - been using a copy of it for 3 seasons now & wouldn't change a thing.

I also like this "no trim" approach specially for small kite and high AR kites ; but sometimes the trim can still be comfortable ; so I am currently working on a "rear-line-simple-and-cheap" trim system and let you know if it is actually doing the job ; for sure less rapid and user-friendly as a clam-cleat but still better than nothing or the "trim-knots" proposed by BRM.

The North/Duotone click rar does not handle looping well and will bind... Totally frustrating for me. I have the OR Click Bar I use for my LEI's but it does not have any metal in the center hole and I don't like the feeling of the PU tube to bar interface - Feels rough.

For my foil kites I have been a huge fan of the cam cleat and depower system on the Ozone Race Bar. I have since modded two Flysurfer bars with cam cleats and my own pully/depower system.

Clam cleats, definitely.

Easy to adjust, you can see when the depower gets worn, you can change the rope easily and fast, you can change depower length and position easy, and you can make this trim system yourself for your bars.

Furthermore you can use the smaller clamcleat CL828 if you like, for thinner rope - I use it for foiling, and still got the classic CL826 for waveriding (a lot more power) eventhough I think I could easily use the 828 here too, so will do that in the future





Have never worn a cleat (teeth) since I learned to dip it in the water every time I go out, if the bar is on a sandy beach
