The Perfect Kite Event - how would it look like?

Postby Toby » Tue Sep 04, 2018 1:48 pm

Let's hear what you think is a perfect kite event.

The styles, the riders, the format, the judging, the services on side (food, parties, demos etc).

The location would be Cumbuco, Brazil, so considers those conditions:

- chop, small kickers (0.5-1.5), flatter on lower tide
- winds 15-30 knots
- wind sideshore from the right

Would be nice to have duets performances as its in in tennis :) even can be single duet vs other single duet.
Of course please less wakestyle handle pass marionettes. As its of course difficult for performer but not so attracting for audience to see it. Big air, kiteloop plus board offs that is attraction and everyone would like to see it for sure.

Riders judge each other. No prizes, apart from the honour.

I can tell you what mine is, as i already attend the perfect kite event for me. Its the second oldest traction kite event in the world and was around before kitesurfing was invented. Its called the moosemeet and I have booked it in every year until I die.

Imagine a windswept beach 300km from the nearest big city. Then imagine driving 30km down the beach to isolated sand dunes then setting up camp with your closest kiting buddies in the sand dunes. No, sell ph coverage, When the tide comes in you are stuck there, Nobody comes or goes. No other beach user, apart from one or 2 fishermen driving past per day. Wind is guaranteed at that time of year. All there is to do is kite, kite, eat, kite, drink, Build a bombfire, kite some more.

You are forced to relax and kite to your heart's content. Oh yeah. you can submerse yourself in whatever kitestyle you want. There's flat water, waves, hard-packed beach and endless dunes.

Ahhhh. It is the highlight of my year every year.

The plan is to have the highest prize money ever, so finally the riders can make some money.

A private camp is not the plan.

We want the best action in the water, therefore the question. Trying to find out what other people think is the best.

Anybody rides however they want and
12 random people picked from the crowd judge.
