One friend of mine , very skilled foiler, has now sold all his LEI to switch to its loved CA waves : he now has all of hem 6.5 +4.5 + 3. He said easier to launch and land than a LEI , incredible stability useful in waves and a bit less "explosive" (i do not likevthis on my 4m, too quick in turns) I was not keen to use foils above 15 knots. Now after having seen his 4.5m when i was with my rally 4m, i want one... not so expensive but compared to my second hand 4m rallye at 160 euros ... i need to judge how often i may use it ...

always had suspicions about the amount of testing/ development of very small kites as there are not that many places to reliably test them. Used to have a 4.5 and a 5.5 in my quiver along time ago, loved them. i guess hydro sees more use of them though.

I'm also curious about the CA Waves. But foil kites lose any advantage over 20 knots and can be a pain to land.

Curiosity has the best of me... What is this CA Waves kite that you're both speaking about?

I wonder how that 3m would be in 20+ knots... in the video it is only 13 knots and he seems powered well enough. is it your experience that foil kites have that much more range then LEI?

Naish makes the boxer in 3.5m and the rest of the kites from 4m.

I have picked up the latest model of best Roca on clearance in 4m for 249€ last year.
Did not use it that often as I tend to prefer waveboard and 6 or 8 or Mako and 8 or 9m when it is well over 25 knots

I am not certain that foils have larger wind range than LEI. At least it us not a general rule . IMO wide wind range is mainly due to HF + small kite because small kites have a big peak boost for waterstart and then HF do not require high traction force to ride. Hence small kites have large wind range on a HF. LEI or foils.

However IMO what is amazing with foilkites and particularly medium / small ratios like the Pulsion / wave is the amazing stability in drift in very low relative wind (almost autostable, the leading edge does not redirect toward the see surface l); this allows you to go direct downwind for a long time , even slack lines : great for light wind but also carving and waves in on-shore winds.

Please don't judge all foil kites based on the A15.
I am considering an A15. What is it that you did not like about yours?

Would potentially be interested in buying your 9.
