I'm entertaining a thought of getting a second smaller twintip.
A question for those that have two different size non-door TTs that are both in regular use.
Why do you have the smaller board and what are the benefits of riding it in your experience? Just as an example 136x41 and 144x43 or something like that...
...instead of just riding only the larger one all the time?

Funny my lightwind board is a spleene session which is 141 x 43 - good for a couple of knots lower wind (I am only 70 kg though)

I have pretty much one TT that I use regularly, a 146. I have four other TTs (132, 150, 140, 139) that are gathering dust.
I'll take an extra TT on vacation in case I lose one.

Back in the day we used to switch to smaller boards for better strong wind edge control when kites had less depower. Nowadays with the variety of other must have options, Surf Boards, Foilers, etc etc the budget often gets stretched beyond a couple of twin tips. At the end of the day it's about matching your weight/ optimal wind range to planing surface area.
Ionically I'm right in the middle of trying to decide on a custom built board to replace my mutant, nobody makes mutants anymore, well nobody I deal with and I'm trying to decide what length/width to go with whilst being in denial about my weight and new found ageing inability toeside (keep getting cramp).
I shall also probably settle for something 140 ish, 41-2 wide in the middle, but with a narrower stern given my natural lead(the heavy metal) backfoot tendencies, then there's the colour, both Pink Northpride and PinkDuotone have conflicting suggestions, but I think it's going to be postbox red in the end.

There's no point in having two twintips. in light wind hydrofoil and size your twintip so it works for max wind. if there's a gap between your twintip and hydrofoil fill it with a surfboard. there's to much to do in modern kiteboarding to get stuck only rinding a twintip
try a smaller kiteboard if you like it sell the big one anyway that's my advice!! one twintip is plenty

Agreed.
I'm 81kg and have a Lieuwe Shotgun 136 x 40.5 TT which works very well with my Enduro V2s (6/8/10/12m). Less is more.
<edit> And have a Mitu 5'8" directional which also works very well with the Enduros</edit>

136 and 144 sounds like a bit of a waste to me personally, you'll get a little extra glide out of the bigger one but not to such a degree that it makes it worth having another board. I'd go with two very different boards, like something in your normal size (132-134 for me) and something really big for light wind, like 150+, if that's your thing. Makes sense to have two boards for boots straps as well though, I did that for a few years. Boot board slightly bigger with a little more rocker.

One tt, one surfboard, one foil, and a shit load of kites.
