It really depends. I've ridden a 15m in 40 knots. You have to get pretty far from the beach when you boost because you float so far downwind. I've also ridden on a 6m in 25 knot winds for the waves. You can't megaloop those big kites they are just too slow to catch you, so it's more fun to switch down to a 11m or smaller once the wind gets up to 30 knots so you can kiteloop it. typically I will ride just two kites a 10m and a 14m. In light wind I'll be on the 10m on the hydrofoil then at 15 knots I switch to the 14m and twintip and then at 25 knots I'll switch back to the 10m and take that up to 35 or so knots. I rarely ride past 40 knots it's too scary.
