Hi guys,
A friend of mine are thinking to go to Peru in November for a month or a a bit longer than that to kitesurf (wave riding). We are trying to gather as much info as we can on the different spots. Is it a good time of the year to go and be able to kitesurf most of the days? What kits should we bring? is it a good idea to rent a van and live in it ?
thanks in advance

Hola
I am from Peru and live in Australia. Accommodation is cheap and I advise not to sleep in your car unless is a desolated area. Lots of tourists have travelled in cars without issue. It is a 3rd county and very poor. Corruption and crime are everywhere. I have camped in the fishing village many times without issues but I speak the language and I look like them. Pacasmayo, between Lobitos and Mancora lots of places to kite surf but the wind in Nov isn't consistent but you can't predict the weather. It could be very windy. Paracas have consistent winds and is a bay and also on the other side, there are surf kite beaches. It will your best option for kite surfing. If you are going for Surfing then I can confirm you will surf a lot everywhere. North swell are firing up the north coast of Peru. Food amazing and cheap. Great parties and adventure. The mountain and jungle are a great place for adventure, hiking and experience a very different culture.

12 meter is what most people use in Peru. It can get windy for small kite but not often. November the water is warm up north and for Paracas 2/3 will do without boots.

Hi, a +1 to what Cisco said. Definitely do not sleep in the van. Also make sure you always park it in a secured parking lot overnight. If not available do not leave equipment in the van overnight.
Wind wise, Nov is really good in Paracas. I think waves would be less reliable (wave season is june-aug). Have a look here

Having said that, if you go for a month, you'll definitely get waves at some point, just not that consistently I'd say. Also worth asking on the peruvian kitesurf Facebook page...
