I know the guy that crashed onto the rocks and he's ok. He had to stay off a leg for about a week if I remember right, but could've been significantly worse. He was kiting *just* upwind of a jetty and found a rock that was a little in front of the wall. The sudden stop ejected him and, well, you've seen the rest.

That's surprising. I would have thought he'd be missing some teeth at minimum. Looked like he ate a few boulders.
What's the deal with the guy who punched out at the edge of the water and got dragged up beach, over rocks, on top of concrete seawall? That was one pissed off kite!

The one immediately followings Toby's, right about the 2:10 mark...who would you say is at fault? To me, the upwind rider (the one wearing the camera) is at fault. His kite should have been much higher, high enough for the other guy to pass under.

the both kooked it up. the high downwind kept his kite high the guy downwind kept his kite low, the guy upwind could have downlooped and transitioned away, the guy downwind could have kiteloop transitioned. You could see they were both froze up and unable to move. You ever seen a newby kiter get lofted into the air and their hands are pulled all the way and and everyone is screaming at them "Let the bar out let the bar out" but nope, there's a death grip on the bar. It's like that, ps also the very first accident in this video. I don't think that tangle after Toby's trick seemed bad. A pretty soft crash.
I think if you walk away from the crash then forgive and forget, keep on kiting.

My Italian is not nearly as passable as it was 25 years ago, so I had to rely on the auto translate function in google chrome. I'm pretty sure something is being lost in translation...

Still remember the one with Top Hat, saying he got a kite got in the air, then looks up and says, hay look there's a guy up there.
