Does anyone have the templates they can share? I have tried the various links posted about on the forum and they all appear down. I found the PDF indicating rails, rocker, concave, etc, but can't find the actual outline template.

Thanks!

PS: You guys are making some pretty sweet stuff. I can't wait to join in on the buildling action.

There is a concave underside, that was the Hawaiian solution for tracking straight before the invention of fins.

You are the man! I could not find that page.

Hawaiis: nice plank friend. What materials did you use? Did you hand-plane the concave in?

The Alaia boards are made with Paulownia wood. But this one I bought is made with pine.

I have found that some surfers have had issues with buoyancy and durability with pine--the former not so much a problem for us but how much use have you had and what are your impressions of longevity?

Palownia is cost prohibitive for me. There was once a farm not far from me but they have since gone under. As such I plan to use cedar.

I'm going with cedar as well for my build.
We have lots in Canada.
Here are pics of my last cedar board (Mako)
Be sure to post pics when your done, as will I.

Pine is not marine friendly, it split apart twice on me. Paulownia is the perfect wood for kite boards. Very light and strong. Weight almost like Balsa. I built Twin tip boards out of Paulownia.

However it has a totaly different feel compared to fins. It suits Alaia very much. Once you get used to it, all other UD boards will feel to much tight.
