Thanks guys!
Tom, it is easy for you to say with so much experience and beautifully made boards.
Well, my boardbuilding journey started with bagging. With less professional setup and bag materials for sure. It was a strugle all the way. I had to use a press anyway to get "decent" results. The last thing I did was bonding prelaminated topsheets, and it was a disaster, a lot of pockets of trapped air. That's when I ditched the process.
The first board I did with plastic topsheet and pressing was also bad, but I simply reversed some steps, so I do not laminate the topsheets to the final core, but to a sheet of flat veneer instead.
With the new process, I can say the previous two alaias came out flawless and on the last one some whiteish FG fibres can be seen (I once bought 10 m of this FG which I decided to use now, than back to UD).
It did cross my mind it would be nice to have vacum bag when forcing bubbles and excess epoxy out with spatula, otherwise it all comes down to speed. Veneer tends to curl in one direction, plastic topsheet wants to roll back into a roll, so I have to be efficient and precise to press it ASAP. But I figured vacuming is not worth a hustle.
I was checking some production boards and noticed that they have more bubbles than my latest boards, they are just not so easy to spot since graphic sheet hides a lot.
