Thanks

I don't know how much. Because of this, I never glass the bottom at the same time and if there is a 100% springback ( and I did have that on a few boards), I would glass the top again with more rocker on a table.
The two layers board is an good compromise tho.

After one year going really strong! (GOD, IT'S TWO YEARS, I SEE THAT NOW :)

Enough said about durability, using it 99% on my time (except when riding Monk, or a skim :) And that is (for the last year only, realizing now:):

As seen, the board survived 2.22km of jumps, or 578 jumps over only one year, averaging ~4m jumps.

The board is fast, very fast. I rekon due to it's size. But, it's light hence a bit bouncy, maybe even skate-ish. It's nice for board-offs.

Some riders like it, some don't. Being a 120cm it suits a smaller rider, that is. The bigger fins makes a difference. I can 'dig' in a lot, almost never loose the edge. On a hight speed tho, I have no strength in my legs to hold it. Someone stronger would, but not me.

What I would add is a bit more concave. Maybe I'll build exactly the same one so I can compare. Anyways, I have other builds in a queue, will see.

Enjoy!

I've checked out both of your awesome builds and the one thing I haven't seen or figured out is what your rocker table looks like! Is it something you built? I'd love to see more details on it.

Hi ice

I've got a lot more on here:

http://downunderbloghr.blogspot.com.au

and here:

http://boardbuilders-forum.1077691.n5.nabble.com/

What is the rocker table? :D I'm using just a piece of 5mm perspex sheet on top of two milk trays with an alu beam secured with two clamps. And some wood underneath to bend a sheet.
Can't be simpler and cheaper than that. All sourced from the recycling yard.

Did see a lot of DIY board builders going in lengths with building a rocker table. No need with wood. Wood will always bend how it wants, the table is just 'helping' to bend 'enough'.

For me, there is more satisfaction with building something with almost no special tooling than anything else! Than, no regret when not using it :)

First clamps:

More refined rocker:

Concave? What is a concave? :) I'm just using some balsa with plastic on top not to stick to anything under the board. More thin balsa sheets under, the bigger the concave. Again, the wood will bend as it wants, it is all approximate, not exact science.

Remember, I never ever glass the bottom on the rocker table. No need. I glass the bottom when the board is bent as I like it. And that is top glassing only. Than I put the board with a bottom glass in a vac bag only. I've seen so many wrinkled glass on bottom, not on my builds :)

Good luck!

D.

Nice board!
Just one note, with the fins so close to the end of the board it may suck air into the back of the fins a bit too easily?

Not sure,

Some of the most expensive boards, like this CF, have fins very close to the end.

For this one, I drilled the 3rd fin hole to be able to move it per rider request:
