I'm putting the pieces together for a DIY Kite Harness similar to the Engine harness. The most difficult material to source is the 1/2" thick cushy foam base that would go under the final 3-5mm Lycra-on-Neoprene top layer.
What kind of closed cell foam is it? Where can I pick up a sheet?
I'd like to find the soft, squishy, foam you can feel inside the nicer life/impact vests. Is it Ensolite? Some kind of morphed Neoprene? I don't think it is XPE (cross linked polyethylene). I've seen some descriptions naming 'Aqualite PVC/PE'... what's that?

I think it's PE foam. 1/2" EVA under thickish neoprene would probably work well though and easy to source.
