Braindead moments

Postby rynhardt » Sat Jul 30, 2016 10:17 pm

I have a ton of these... Braindead moments, where I am either in the process of f#cking up or have just f#cked up and am now committed to plan B, whatever the hell that may now entail.

Like tonight, I was wiring up a new vacuum switch for the Infusion setup, trying to make everything look real neat and tidy, figured out a nice way to fit everything into a little box, built it with not much room for error. And then realised I missed one power connection.

So now I must butcher the original layout or make some other creative plan. Somewhere my guardian angel is laughing his ass off at my attempts to control the universe.

What's your most recent drama?

Well you know mine.....

Was so confident that my bag was airtight, that I didnt do a proper drop test. End result was throw the whole board away and begin again...

Recently laminated the fuse for my hydrofoil build. I didn't clamp one of the laminations properly and only half bonded..... doh. Scrape and chisel that layer off and start again.

Used cheap tape on a lapp. Spend 2 hrs scraping the sh....t off and 1hr using solvents to get glue residue off. Never use cheap tape.

Bought a cheaper epoxy resin. Used it as a top coat. Bloody resin suffers from amine blush. I spent hours and hours sanding/scraping that waxy shit off the top of the board.

Turns out it was an assembly resin not designed for top coats.......
