I think you need to taper or thin down the foam more gradually.

The product is named Duraclear and manufactured in France by socrep.com

Other product is made in Austria by isosport, and this is a TPU sold via junksupply as I understand.

Either way, it is a bugger to apply on the board without a press...
That's funny coincidence that you were in Helsinki where I live. Small world. :)

I only have vacuum for pressing power, so I think that I have to find alternatives to that if that is not enough. I just got two printable sample fabrics from a print shop that I laminated under vacuum yesterday. I should see today how they turned out. The other sample is some flag material and the other feels about the same but is heavier and you cannot see through so easily. But do they bond well with epoxy remains to be seen later today.

I think so too. I already did one core same way as earlier and will extend the UD carbon more to the tip to see if that works. For future boards I will then follow your suggestion.

Proper vacuum (90%++) gives you the pressure equivalent of tons of weight over the board surface. A simple fridge compressor is capable of that levels of vacuum. Invest in a vacuum gauge to get to the proper vacuum levels and perhaps a buffer tank to have some vacuum advance.
Vacuum bagging gives you more than enough pressure for proper lamination, bending foam and wood cores, etc.

edit: Did you use peel ply and breather material for the vac bagging? It helps a lot with even vacuum distribution along with the spiral hose to help the extraction of excess resin.

Vacuum won't help with applying a topsheet on top/bottom, unfortunately. Been there...

Quite decent results with topsheet are done by Zob and he is using a mechanical press:

viewtopic.php?f=107&t=2387034&start=10

If one really needs a topsheet, the trick would be to apply heaps of epoxy, bath a board in it, wait to gel and than slowly apply a topsheet. than a vac. A 'master' technique of applying tint films would help here significantly(*).

Just a few days ago I tried to apply mylar sheet on my foil mast and couldn't avoid many air bubbles underneath (see *). And this is a way smaller surface than a board.

Very rarely you'll see the production boards with clear topsheet. I've seen some with heaps of air bubbles and dry spots...

I also contemplated the idea of applying a nice Formica design http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Formica_(plastic).
Kaito (memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=858), says Formica does work, and I do know one DYI board used for number of years with white Formica.

But, it's not cheap for me. One sheet is about $150 and can use it for only one board, maybe two small ones.

I am now testing two different materials. Top is fabric called decotex and bottom is vinyl sticker with protecting transparent laminate. Decotex bonded well with the epoxy but I am not satisfied with the result. It has some uneven spots. Let's see how they last.

I had perforated film and breather material. I did not use infusion method, so no spiral line.

Looks great. How does it ride? How thick are your tips?
What did the board weigh with the graphics (bare board)

I have been looking for ages for large mylar sheet with no luck. The film i currently use is really static and attracts unwanted particles.
