Just thought I'd post up that i have had good success using Vac storage bags for vac bagging.
The largest I have found are 180 x 110cm (https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00 ... UTF8&psc=1).
That's big enough for a smallish surf board or massive TT
Had to make a little adapter for my vac setup but that was easy enough. I turned one out of nylon but a correctly sized rubber bung should do it.
Advantages:
1) Re usable. Saves on all that tack tape etc.
2) Reliable seal every time...wooo hooo!
3) No wax/release agents on rocker table
4) Easy to quickly open and correct something inside if something isn't quite right.
5) Can use vac cleaner to quickly pull out volume, then switch to vac pump to pull down to low pressure.
To do a complete board on a rocker table, I first build up a stack on a thin hardboard base as follows (Bottom to top):
1 3mm hardboard
2 Polythene sheet, fixed the h/b with double sided carpet tape
3 Core material
4 Laminate(s)
5 Peel Ply
6 Release film
7 Breather
8 Masking tape to hold it all in place
The whole assembly is then placed inside the bag, placed and weighted down on rocker table.
Apply vac
It also makes it dead easy to do stuff like sticking a patch on a board.
Could also be handy if you suspect a board is taking on water: wrap in paper towels, chuck in bag, apply vac. See if damp patches appear.
