Starting my 2017 projects. Have 5 boards to build this winter.
5-0 hybrid ( prototype for myself )
5-2 hybrid
5-0 compact
5-2 compact
5-4 compact

Building even thinner this year. Foam us down to 5mm in noses and 10mm at concaves.

Are you having the cores CnC'd? They look very precise!
With such thin edges will you be wrapping the glass over or do you have another plan?

Please take plenty of pictures as you build. Looks like an awesome design i'd love to copy for a hybrid.

Final shaped 4 boards this weekend. Yes blanks are CNC on akushaper. They are quite precise, but this time blanks came back 5-8 mm thinner than design file. Shop says it's because shape is so thin, foam us deflected during machining, but first batch last year was perfect.
I've worked around it.
Don't think I could shape these by hand from blank.
Will wrap rails - carefully... Hand layup, no vacuum except for wood deck which I do after bottom and rail lam.

Lovely...especially the yellow.

Do what I assume are carbon stripes actually help?

I actually have no idea carbon makes any difference. I suspect they are not needed for longitudinal stiffness.
But generally I need strength in tail to withstand fin forces, but that could probably be done some other way. Future work.....
