I have finished a paulownia surfboard, and in the same natural / eco line, I want to shape the fins out of plain wood (no fiber lamination).
What wood should I use, to be water-proof and strong to resist the hits a surf fin usually takes?
I want to treat the wood with lanoline seed oil (eco again)....
Thanks for ideas!

Bamboo is quite strong. Other than that, no ideas.

if you use fiberglass and epoxy it will be about as strong as g10, that's what I would use and use the same wood as your board. Fiberglass is natural right? Glass is just melted sand. Then you just need to use a bio-sourced epoxy. Just some ideas.
