I think there are two conceptions in building a board. A very lightweight and fragile core, with a strong and heavy lamination; and a strong and heavyweight core with lightweight lamination.
I choosed the second way.
Weight? My first Oval was 4kgs naked.
The second was 3,6 kgs
I hope this carbon version will weight no much more than 3 kgs naked.

4kg is quite heavy for 2x3mm plywood. Not sure what a spinal cord 3mm is?
Yes, there is definitely some room for the weight reduction. Using a wood strips is a lot more work but would be much lighter. Carbon for sure. But I just love the wood grain, and man, my customers love it too
What are u using for the footpads inserts?
