Chop friendly board with narrower stance

My wife is nearly independent now and I'd like to surprise her with a new board. She's currently riding an Ocean Rodeo Mako and likes the board, but the stance on the Mako is a little wide for her. It's doable, but she'd rather ride something with a narrower stance. I've been digging through women's boards, but can't seem to find anything that would ride similar to the Mako. We're both learning to kite in our late 50's so there's be little aerial action in our future, mostly just cruising and a few carves here and there.

Any women out there have any experience with, or suggestions for a good board for her that rides smooth in chop, has a narrower stance and descent upwind and carving ability?

The North Soliel is the women's version of the x-ride, basically a softer and smaller version, which sounds exactly what you'd want.

Which size Mako do you ride? My guess is you ride the 140 or 150?
Are you sure the mini mako (130 or 135) does not have a smaller stance? If she likes the mako and you are in choppy waters the soleil or anything like it will be something that will take time to get used to....

We have a 2016 Mako 140 and a 2015 Mako 150. For some reason, neither of us like the new design of the 2016 Mako, so we've been sharing the 150, which she likes, but the stance is just a bit too wide. If our wind was more consistent, I'd consider a smaller Mako if the stance was closer, but the Mako is definitely not a light wind board. We have wind holes that would swallow up anything smaller than the Mako 140. She needs a board that has enough surface area to get through the lulls, but enough edging ability to hold down the gusts...and some comfort in chop. Thanks, we'll have a look at the Soleil, thanks!

Check out the Shinn Monkette. Its the ladies version of the Monk which is amazing in chop and super comfortable on the knees.

My wife has narrowed her choices down to either the Cabrina Tronic, or the North Soleil. The Tronic does have a 2" narrower stance than the Mako, but my concern with the Tronic is that the smallest board available is 137x41, which eventually might be too big?. I think the Soleil we would get would be 132x38 even though the 128x37 is recommended for her size, just because of the funky wind conditions and giant holes we have to get through, we assume that the 132 it might glide a little better through the light spots, or in light wind. We're leaning mostly toward the Soleil, but does anyone have a good reason why the Tronic would be a good/better choice? The Monkette also looks like a good choice, but way to difficult to get one where we live.

If I'm riding 120cm board, she can too. God, I just love small boards, duno where the industry is going with 140cm and over...Ridiculous.

What is the stance you're after in cm?
