North Evo 2014 or Rebel 2014

Postby atomic-chomik » Sun Jul 06, 2014 8:07 am

All right, kinda stuck here. I have two kites in my possession. One rebel(11m) and one Evo(11m). One has to go and in stuck as to which one. I like them both. However, as i said.
I like to free ride when there are no waves, but i like kiting in waves as much as anything I've ever done lol. Both kites seem to have their attributes, but I'm just not sure which one will serve me better in the surf, and yes i know the dice or neo. I like the feel of the 5rebel, but the short power stroke is not enough depower. I find at times when I'm strapless I get yarded off board. Maybe its just a matter of getting used to it. The evo has that 4 line depower, but i really seems to drive through the window a bit fast and that is a bit tougher to manage maybe for surf purposes i find. Also Ive heard about some stability issues and have personally notices some kind of…strange feedback through the bar from the kite.
I also need lighter bar pressure due to old injuries.
Can someone set me straight please?

If you like to unhook go with the Evo. If not I think you've answered the question yourself already... Still undecided then try a Dice as well.

Anyways, just got back from a trip to the coast. Nice waves, 20 knots. Did a head to head with evo vs rebel. I felt the evo was faster, drifted better and generally performed better than the rebel for waves. For free riding the rebel hands down, i did end up bow tying it when it fell out of sky in big hole however and that pretty much sealed the deal for me.
Still gonna keep my 9m rebel though. Kite rips.
