Front deckpad

Postby kas911 » Sun Jun 19, 2016 4:35 pm

Yo my lil homies

Considering saying NO NO NO (Brenda Walsh style) to the all mighty sex wax. Is a normal deckpad put on backwards the way to go? Or what do you use as a front pad on your strapless kite surfboard?

Regards

Steve sandbag Sanders

I've been using Agenda Surf deckpads for a while, highly recommended!

Lunasurf front tracktion pads are great. Using Alien WHO 3 piece pads in my two boards: https://lunasurf.co.uk/categories/front-foot-traction/

I had the Versatrack whatever it called, clear film on the front. Zero slip, great for feet or boots, very light. The edges peel after a while, but that's easy fixed so buy a bigger set than you need. $70 or so for a fish package...

I like the WMFG 6 pack. When tacking upwind, my back foot is normally just in front of the rear pad, so if there's a gap between the pads, I still have to rely on wax. With the 6 pack, everywhere I need to place my feet is covered. It's weird not worrying about melting the wax though. I still set my board deck down!

If you can't find the wfmg pads locally also longboard pads work well.

After using a bunch of deck pads I have to say the WMFG is really good. The cut pattern keeps my foot from slipping forward during jumps.

I use the agenda surf full pad, it's big enough to cut to size and put your arches under where you want them.

I get SUP pads. Usually does 2+ boards and is a lot cheaper.
