I use Ride Engine with the rope slider and Wichard 20/14 ring. The Ozone chicken loop I use, wedges slightly inside the ring preventing it for detaching from the ring during wipe-outs. A pretty simple set up that works well and does not require any modifications to either the slider or the chicken loop.
The hard shell harness has been a blessing for my injured and degenerated back.

Ride Engine until the shell cracked in two places, it fitted well, don't ride up, the carbon rope slider was excellent, but after a recent two hour wave session where I often ride 50/50 heelside, toeside, I found the shell had cracked .

For the spreader bar, I use to have the exact same setup as BigZ. (2015, RE carbon)
This summer I changed it, since I also foil a lot, the bar distance is more comfortable this way.

2016 Ride Engine Hex Core with carbon rope slider. Best harness I've used.
www.rideengine.uk has them on sale.

Ocean Rodeo Session 2 with Dynabar slider.
From my very first time on a sliding harness, I couldn't imagine going back to fixed hook. Having more flexibility your hips open up is huge, for riding toeside (even more for foiling toeside, as the angle is even more extreme).
Some people use a loose waist harness for this, but seems crazy to have harness shifting when a simple sliding hook works fine.
I have a Ride Engine hex, but find it rides up unless I bind it so tight that it's uncomfortable. I am a medium usually, but need a small I think (32" waist).
I find my OR comfortable and I like the leg hold down straps to keep it riding up.
I've also gone with DIY, with a bar with the hook sawed off, tie a roop, use a stainless o-ring...cheap and works fine. But I've got a dynabar already, so it's hook assembly is convenient.
