Would it be helpful to be able to make all these feet position adjustments and still have something that holds the board on your feet?

Wherever it feels comfortable? Open up front foot to get a good feel on were you should be.
Wider stance when jumping or hitting the lip. Narrower stance when cruising/upwind.
