Oum Lambouir wave spot in Dakhla

Postby Lorenaibarra32 » Mon Feb 26, 2018 5:50 pm

Hey hey everyone!
I am checking some wave spots around north Africa, and I bumped into Oum Lambouir. It's right next to Westpoint Hotel, in Dakhla.
Has anyone kited there? I've read they have 1 minute period waves and pretty stable winds! Sounds pretty good, and about the hotel I've read many good reviews.
Has anyone been?
Thanks!!

Oum labouir has a nice wave for surfing. And it's possible to kite there. But the nice hotel also makes a nasty big hole in the wind. Exactly at the beginning of the wave.

Another downside is the rocks. With high tide it's no problem. But with low tide you have to enter and exit the water through the rocks.

On the plus side, Moroccan food is amazing and there are other spots not to far from there.

Perfect I'm going to check it out. I've seen some videos of kitesurfing there, they organized the GKA last year and apparently it was amazing, I haven't heard anything about the hotel interfering with the wind though, I'll check that out too.

Thanks!

Hi,
I'm here now and have been for a week..
Kite tarifas post is very true..
It's a fun but tricky spot, we have had some big winds and waves..
Westpoint is an awesome hotel..
We've also have a trip to point loir, another wave spot, not as clean waves, but better wind..
All good to try for yourself :)🏄

Hi! Wow that's cool, were you staying at Westpoint or just went there for the day?
I haven't checked that spot you mentioned.
Did you surf too? Or was it too windy?
