That is getting up there!

The swells that hit south/ west nz can be sooo rediculous.. Papatowai is nzs Peahi(jaws) on steroids wonder how that is looking.

I’m wondering how they measure it with satellites ? How else would they monitor waves?

Can they measure it accurately by satellite?
Usually wave data is collected by specialised buoys/weather buoys.
