There is a local race series about to start, and I was thinking of trying it out. I'm a total newb at racing, first year on a strapless surboard, and a bunch of years kiting.
Both the North and Airush race boards would be available locally. I'm 165, and I will be using 09 Naish Helix's. The conditions are usually pretty choppy. Any tips on the best board/ setup? Any other suggestions?
Thanks

Unfortunately customs are out of the question for this year...

"custom" isn't really the right term. Think of them as hand crafted or bespoke. Is the price that different?

I rode the Airush Monaro once and was pretty impressed. I'm not a racer so i dont have a ton of knowledge on raceboards but when i rode it on Muai ( Really Choppy) i had a really fun session.
