IKA News:

2014 Racing Classes World Ranking System published

The 2014 world ranking system for the three IKA racing classes Formula Kite, KiteFoil and Twin Tip Racing has been published. The key change for the Formula Kite class is that from 2014 the same ranking system as in the ISAF sailing World Cup will be used with each riders best six events counting, but a limitation to 3 major events (200 and 100 pointers).

In detail:

Formula Kite:
Best 6 events of the past 12 months, with a limitation of max 3 major events (200 and 100 pointers). Before it was 5 events counting, and the limitation to 3 major events should put more emphasis on regional opportunities.

KiteFoil:
Grade 1: 200 points
Grade 2: 100 points
Grade 3: 50 points
Grade 4: 20 points
Best 6 events count for the world ranking. The KiteFoil Gold Cup has a separate ranking to determine the best KiteFoil Racer 2014 through the KiteFoil Gold Cup

Twin Tip Racing:
International Tour Events or events held in conjunction with a major Formula Kite or KiteFoil Event: 50 points
All other events (nationals and "Weekend Warriors") count 20 points
Best 6 events add up to the world ranking.

All three classes have individual and separate world rankings

And there is more to come: the ISAF pathway to the Olympics 2020, we hope to publish all the documents on that very soon.

All three classes have individual and separate world rankings (not sure yet how I teach my scoring softare how to do that...).
