We're a week away from the third running of the Charleston Fort 2 Battery Race & Party in Charleston, SC.
I am the founder of the event and hope you'll tune in via Sailing Anarchy on Saturday the 9th at 2pm EST to watch it live.
It's a ton of fun. Last year we had 80 racers in foiling moths, kites, kite foils, catamarans and windsurfers and it blew in the high 20s! The winner averaged 34mph and one catamaran was completely destroyed. This year we're at 65 with 4 days until registration closes.
For the first time in the world (that i am aware), we are holding a 3 day regatta of moths & kite foils on the same courses. It should be wild. 12 of the best moth sailors in the USA are coming in to square off with the Kites.
Read more about it here- http://sailinganarchy.com/2016/03/21/the-sweet-run/
We have some neat things happening with the race also for non-participants.
Force Kite & Wake in Charleston has donated a new 2016 Solo 2 12m kite, and a new bar, and a new Luxury Harness. Tickets for the drawings can be bought at http://www.fort2battery.com . All tickets go in one pot, first draw wins the kite, 2nd- the bar, 3rd- the harness so you have 3 chances for 1 ticket.
Flyboy Foil Covers is promoting the race with a new set of board and foil covers to the winner of a drawing the night of the race. Anyone can enter the drawing by publicly sharing the post from their Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/Flyboycovers/?fref=ts and "liking" their page.
If you can join us, registration is open until Monday the 4th. if not, tune in and cheer on your friends!
