G'day from New Zealand.
I've been involved in various aspects of the kiteboarding industry for the past 10 years. I first started kiteboarding in '98, power kiting and kite buggying since the late 80's early 90's. So old to the sport, new to the forum.
I've recently returned from Italy where I picked up a moses foil board which I'm chomping at the bit to get out and have a ride strapless. Being mid winter and about to have a hip operation, it may have to wait a few more months.
Looking forward to sharing some thoughts with you all, if you need some advice on NZ spots, just holla.

Cheers Steffo

I hope your op succeeds and you come back to kiting ASAP! Welcome to the forum!

Good luck for your hip op. I had a hip resurfacing last winter. The specialist told me no kiting for six months but by September I wanted out on the water so joined a trip to Samoa and just cruised around the lagoon on a strapless surfboard. It was great for strengthening the muscles but impacts are probably not a good idea.

Thanks Ned & Simon for the info.
It's pretty impressive what the docs can do with an MRI + key hole surgery these days. I'm having a bit of re- shaping to the ball joint, along with a repair to a laberal tear, socket parts have cracked which will be removed and drilling to encourage the bone marrow to fight a bit of arthritis.
Due to the Christchurch Earth quakes over the past 9 months, my operation dates have been moved three times, which is understandable.... although very frustrating. After the shakes to the hospital this past week, it sounds like I'll be postponed a 4th time due to lack of running water at the hospital, along with the power source being via generator, no sewage and the entrances are a little bumpy to say the least. Might be time to take a rain check and scamper to a warm climate :D

Welcome!
Sorry to hear about the surgery etc ... the quakes sure are making a mess of things eh. I doubt I'll recognize the old town when (if!) I go back ...!
