First Lesson in South Padre Island

Postby PadreBreeze » Tue Jul 19, 2011 9:49 pm

WOW. I first got bitten by the wind during the SPI Kite Roundup May 18-22, 2011. http://www.spikiteroundup.com Never really noticed the kites on the Island until that weekend. "Alex and Dave" were putting neophites on Slingshot trainers and after 2 hours of that, I was hooked. I purchased my own little 2.5 meter trainer kite only a couple of weeks after from Air Padre. July 7th was my first IKO "on land" lesson with a 12 Meter Best (don't know the model). The Laguna Madre is flat water and, other than a man made shipping channel, only hip deep. I can't wait to go back as soon as the wind picks up a little more (this friday looks good).
