watch this video

ps if you want to learn about kiteboarding before taking your lessons/flying a trainer or want to learn more before getting started, I can't recommend the "Progression Kiteboarding Beginner DVD 2nd edition" enough, (make sure it's 2nd edition that's the new one) it's about $35 from Progression, you can find it on amazon.com I probably watched it 100 times before I took my first lesson.

:thumb: Thanks again. I know my kite is outdated, I actually bought it off of ebay while I was on a "deployment" in Spain. I met a guy that was going to give me lessons, but the language barrier prevented it from happening. I did watch tons of instructional videos and read a lot of information, but that was two years ago and since I haven't actually gone out yet, I brain dumped all of it. I'll check that video out, I've seen bits and pieces of it on youtube but not the whole thing. Thanks again for all of the information, and only giving me somewhat of a hard time about it!

I gotcha. I'm not that guy. The Air Force won't even let me do it until I do a "high risk activity" briefing with the Commander anyway. If I were to get hurt, I wouldn't be covered under my insurance.

Go to legit kite school that has 2014 or 2015 gear to learn on. If you intend on doing that and this kite you are showing us is the kite you intend to train on AFTER your lessons, you will throw it away after you use 2014/15 gear - it will be that bad. Im not saying you need to go drop $2500 new gear, but there are MUCH better / cost friendly 2011-12 used kites (with a bar) that are a better design/style for learning and wont kill your wallet and allow you to progress faster.

Sorry dude, but you are.

The lessons will answer most of your questions before you know you have them. Such as "what equipment is appropriate for me to buy?"

Take lessons so you don't injure someone near you not because some stupid reg. says you must.

I live between two A.F. bases in Florida - the A.F. guys here insist kiting is not on the list. According to this web site it isn't either.http://www.airforcevirtualwingman.com/t ... ities.html

By the way, doesn't matter what they say, or what the reg says. My commander specified that it's required. Why the eff are you arguing that? And why can't I ask a damn question?
