kitesurfing california or Las Vegas

Hello everybody; Sorry for my poor English but I am a french guy.
I scheddule to make a trip during august in California and Vegas. I would like kitesurf 5 or 7 days.
I am intermediate but I prefer to kite on flat water and with very safe place.
Could you give me some to go, lake or sea.
