Yes I lost my kite in the ocean when the chicken loop and fifth line leash broke. Side off 30 knt winds, could not swim fast enough to retrieve it. A wind surfer tried to tow it back in by putting the bar in his back footstrap. The kite powered up , looped about 10 times. All this about a mile off shore. When I found him swimming 20 minutes later, he said the kite powered up and jerked his rig out of his hands and he could'nt swim fast enough to catch it.
The Yellow North Vegas has my contact info on the wing tip. I'm thinking it will show up in France in a few weeks!

We didnt find our gear yet, but I'm happy to say we've become friends. I gave this windsurfer a 2 hour kite lesson and now he's staying up wind ! I gave him some kite gear and he's stoked!!!!!!
I picked up another North Vegas 08' 9m2 and we're all good!!

you may want to let the coast guard know so they don't search for a missing kiteboarder when someone finds it

Unbelievable......!! over three years later, my girlfriend, ( i put her cell number on the kite ) gets a call from a girl in Puerto Rico, ( Boston Cell number ) saying she found the kite , describing it perfectly, and felt guilty that she didnt call before she tried to sell it. She didnt get any details, and has not returned any of my calls. I dont think this is a crank call because no one know my Girlfriend cell number.......crazy !!

Be curious to see where she found it. Did someone else find it and bring it down to PR, or did it float all the way from Maryland to Puerto Rico? Wild either way...
