PKRA News:

PKRA 2012 World Cup Stop in Adicora, Venezuela

The PKRA will visit Adicora Venezuela during the 2012 season, and the dates have been tentatively set from March 14th to 18th, 2012. This World Cup event will host the Freestyle discipline and bring together the best kiteboarders in the world for a new season on the World Tour.

Located in the northern reaches of the Venezuelan Coast, Adicora is a hidden, undiscovered wind machine location, with wind conditions similar to those at Cabarete (Dominican Republic); We can expect strong steady winds, 20 to 30 knots during this time of the year.

The spot offers a wide range of opportunities to kite in flat, very slightly choppy water, with small waves breaking at some distance from the shore and gradually building up before reaching Adicora’s beach.

Local Pro riders, Oscar Hurtado, and Sergio Coello who have been getting international competition experience in the PKRA 2011 World Tour, are very excited about having the PKRA in their hometown, and will be proudly representing Venezuela.

As we are now reaching the end of the 2011 season, Youri Zoon (NED, Slingshot) and Gisela Pulido (ESP, Airush), who have already held the world champion title, will be fighting it out once again next year in this secret spot.

Kevin Langeree (NED, Naish) and Andy Yates (AUS, Slingshot), respectively 2009 and 2010 world champions, will be returning having recovered from their injuries and we’re also hoping to see Aaron Hadlow (GBR, Flexifoil), five times world champion, thereby supplying a full gamut of champions for the 2012 season.

The Final event of the 2011 PKRA World Tour is scheduled to take place in Noumea, New Caledonia, from November 30th to December 4th, 2011.
