Varanger Arctic Kite Enduro 2014 April 8-11 on Varanger Peninsula
The world's hardest kite competition in the world's toughest kite landscape is on again, with 40 teams from 11 countries on the starting line April 8 in Berlevåg, Finnmark, Norway. They have four days to get to Vardoe, a distance of 200 kilometers, which is quickly doubled in actual kiting distance. Only the toughest finish this race, and yet there may be a tight run in the end! You can follow the race via live GPS tracking.
VAKE is arranged for the sixth time this year. 2012 was the first year someone managed to reach the finish in Vardoe, and in 2013 VAKE had status as the World Championships and Vardoe could welcome the World Champions in long distance kiting.
This year we have many experienced teams with us, many new strong teams and many women's teams. Nine women's team will increase the chances significantly that we also can welcome female participants to Vardoe this year – they certainly have this as a goal, and we have faith! You can read about all the teams here: http://vake.no/index.php/teams.

Maybe we'll see you on the starting line in Berlevåg next year? Welcome to the Hawaii of snowkiting!
