of course, but if grip tape around, the coolness fades ;-)

And might be even more slippery for grip tape, if you have rounded edges etc...

weight...does not matter. you don't want to have your board very light for certain tricks.

I took some neopreen (old suit) glued it. That was too soft and rotate. I taped it tightly, to take out to much softness. Soft, but not rotating. This way, no need to round up the edges.

The reason for the CF is because I have the material and minimal tools are needed. I'm in Vietnam or else I'd just order one from mac. Translating what I want to a local metal worker seems like a big headache.
Couldn't find tennis tape or similar so I'm going to use a bike tube wrapped around tightly and glued. Not too concerned about the cool factor in this project just durability.

how tall is the handle from the deck? I was thinking somewhere in the 7-10 cm range.
