Most people want it fast....but once they progress they will feel why it is a disadvantage!
did you ever tried to numb a smaller/faster kite using a smaller bar? how did it went for airstyle?

PS
would be something in common with those who i won´t nominate otherwise the topic will get blocked...

I use the 18 with the inner connection of the bar...so guess what happens if I take a smaller kite...

18: 100% of tricks

the smaller the less the number of % gets.

and before you come after me not being skilled enough for a small kite: did you see one rider at KOTA doing a boardoff with a rotation?

Guess why?

Two things

1. The new North Dyno is only a 17m and North tried to make it more of a racing kite. I didn't even look at the new North because of the number 17. I wanted at least an 18m and ended up with the 19m.

2. I have the 19m Edge (55cm bar normal) on a North Bar set at 49cm. I could go down to the 42cm but right now I don't see the need

Slow is way better. I might try the 42cm setting just to see.

The cool thing about the edge when you add the North bar and you and shorten the front lines. Then use the North de-power to bring the front lines back to original length. This gives you two advantages.

So you have three settings Neutral (factory full power) Extra power or Extra de-power

1. In lower wind you can let the de-power right out giving you extra jumping power (more + angle of attack)
2. In high winds 22-30kns you can pull the de-power for extra de-power (more - Angle of attack)

Now when I say more I mean more then factory settings.

Talk about power hungry..... lol

No not me lol. I was referencing the other guy. I've only taken 2cm out of the front lines. He has 5cm out and is heavy then me. I can do 20kns full power no issue (on factory setting)

when are you back to Brazil? I'm going south next week then no plans.

nããã… was honestly interested in the answer

most of the riders i know don´t own > 12m, the other half would kill themselves if they ride a 18 in a 12m weather. some would be air style perfect target, behind me lol

never actually went as far as cutting a bar, but use a 7/9m bar into my 11m and it does make a bit of difference for my own stuff

just checking how it was in airstyle

The newest Dyno is almost an 18 because it's true size is not 17 but " 17.8m2 " (as per the designer)
14Toeside (109kg) compared it to his Edge 19 and it has very close power...he really likes his Dyno
Take a demo with the North Dyno...pretend it has no number  (like the Infinity)

but that makes the difference. That's why you don't see anyone pulling that variety of tricks with a smaller kite.

"did you see one rider at KOTA doing a boardoff with a rotation?"

the scoring wasnt right 70% for height + kiteloops 20% tricks 10% variety. Langeree could do it I'm sure
