Faster is more wind/more power. But I was able to hold edge to pop with good flat water. Dyno slower and yes less direct. I llike it. Feels save.
How is that white/blue one of yours Toby? Compared to Rebel 18/Dyno 18.
I had the rebel 14m 2011, You can hold it extremely long and make big jumps. So big I didn,t dare much. To fast to. I swaped it for crossbow 11m , which is slower! really. But less hight.

You are talking about the 18m 2011 right, I'm talking about the 16m 2011 dyno, of course you can hold the rebel higher than the 18m dyno. Hence I found the 18m dyno 2011 too big for me, it's just pure physics. You don't have the weight, nor the strength in my opinion for a canopy that large at 74kg. Heavier guys, like toby, probably don't quite get what it's like being this light. Get a 20kg sack of grain and whack it on your shoulder...it's significant. Well it's 27 percent heavier, nearly a third...trying to ride the same kite...nah.

The new dyno (2015) is very direct, much more than the 2011. Sits in between the rebel 18m and the old 2011 dyno.

The other factor I didn't mention with the rebel is I have a pretty bad AC shoulder injury. Dislocated 5 years ago, never got put back in, and although she's all kind of 'sewn' up the joint is much weaker. Hence the rebel bar pressure eventually gets me in a session. For a big fella this wouldn't be a problem., but I need aspect in my kites hence less bar pressure.

Look I will miss the rebel big time, all my new tricks were learnt on it, but unless I get some invasive surgery with months and months of rehab I have to let it go to a rider it will suite more.

It is an exceptional AIRSTYLE kite period.

ok, thx for the explanation.

You may want to try the Flysurfer Boost...I hear several reports that they are lighter on the bar...didn't try personally, so cannot comment it.
