Perspective Gunnar Biniasch
First attempt using the chest mount. Not really nice results as the chicken loop is the main thing you see during jumps. However I do not believe in throwing decent footage away. So here is short and mellow edit from this mornings session at Flag Beach on my 9m ChronoV2

What's with the double fold of sand for launch?

Absolutely stops tip twists and tangles on launch, keeps bridle lines nicely laid out to avoid loop knots.

Yes, and I suspect perhaps two smaller lines of sand makes it easier to launch smoothly , less tugging to displace a single big mass of sand off the tip of the kite ?

Less likely to have a pocket of sand "sticking" to the kite in the air too. If it's already a sketchy kite to launch, you don't want to add to your woes...

And the winner is: "Drum Roll"
Kamikuza!
Yep. The reasons I use the second fold are:
1) to minimise the amount of sand on the tip
2) allows me to keep the kite flat on the ground before launch. This is achieved by having the first fold quite far up the kite, which holds down more of the kite. When you only weigh down the tip near the end, then the Leading edge has a tendency to get blown over in stronger winds. It also prevents the Bridle from tangling up.
3) During launch the the wingtip also will have a lot less tendency to fold in
4) Tip does not "slam" out during a high powered launch. This is very important to keep your kite flying well over a long period of time.
5) It also lets me see the whole tip bridle during setup, so I can be 100% sure that there are no tangles or twists.

Great minds think alike
Also, when I'm in a spot with hard-packed sand it saves difficult digging...
