Yes you're right for this one , actually most of the time I'm doing it as a transition .I let the kite finish the loop until it reaches the other window then I'm going the other way sometimes I'm landing it even on toe side, but the real problem is the strong wind.
I'm starting the slide when the kite is at 11then I loop it at 12 so it's look OK on low wind but in your video it looks like you are going as fast as possible then you're going a little downwind so the kite is more at 12 then you start the slide, it appears as well that you pull the bat the longest time possible on 12 position so when you activate the loop the kite is at 1 behind you.so I imagine that the hardest point is to start the loop just before sinking to keep planing.I'll try, thX Toby.

stansxm, the only thought I can add is that the darkslide is mostly a downwind trick. That is, you have to go into it with speed, but when you initiate the slide, you come off your edge and slide mostly downwind. In your video, it looks like you are continuing to tack across the wind direction during your trick. Try sliding downwind more. Then maybe your loop won't have so much power.

Try to do the slide longer...then the kite should go further over the zenith to the wind window. Them rotate and pull.

Yes, once you loose power you loop to get the power to get out of it.

Keep trying. And know where you kite is before you loop...look up quickly, this will help to understand the position and then flying it further behind the zenith.

But, if you want to do the transition, you keep the kite more in zenith...but due to the backhand in the bar the kite will fly forward anyway...make sure to sheet out meanwhile so it does not steer hard...and then get power quickly once you finished the rotation and trick to get sped again to get going into the other direction.

check in my video 0:42. Here you can see how I sheet out, kite slowly moving over zenith...then pull hard to get lifted and steer the kite forward.

But, didn't I explain it in the Slides section of my how to video of the DVD? There you can see the exact movement of the kite and where it starts to loop hard...

And same for transitions...

I bought the complete video on vimeo yesterday .I didn't see everything yet.I want to enjoy it.. I tried to download the app first but it doesn't work .it says not available for your country. It happens sometimes as I'm leaving in the Caribbean .I tried to get it with apk but it bugs. So I get it on vimeo on demand.

Here is my one of my first walk .very difficult. Low wind, choppy water, very hard to keep my kite over my head long time to walk longer i need some stronger wind. I tried to initiate the loop at the latest time but honestly foil kites are so slow to rotate that's most of the time the tip of the kite is touching water ,I'll keep training if Lukash and others get it in high winds with foil kite I'll get it as well. What ever thx for all your advice guys.

You will see how much easier it will be with power in the kite...like with all tricks.
