I am determined this month to be able to do a simple board off. I can do a simple quick one foot but haven't tried both feet. I have practiced doing a handle grab and am working on my flexibility. I also made a higher handle for my board.
So all you board off guys out there what are some learning tios?
Is it better to grab handle or board? Watching videos it seems like a lot of riders are facing a bit backward when taking off the board. Also looks like you should be bringing the board up rather than just reaching down. Any tips, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
My goal when I started kiting was to be able to do a nice slow 360 or 720 board off. I mastered the rotations, just need to add the board off!

Don't you have my DVD?
If not, download the AIRSTYLE app.
The boardoff section explains all.

With the handle you will be able to put it off and on faster.
Rail (Indy), tail and strap Boardoffs will need a bit more time and physical strength.

I've watched your dvds a lot. Just looking for all ideas.
From having watched you doing front 1080 board offs in san andres i was surprised how you could do them with actually not that high of a jump. How high do think you need to be to do a 360 board off? I think you were doing the triples with a jump of about 3 to 4 meters.

It s a question of lift. Big kite with medium wind like 16 18 knts is the best to learn and practice board off.
Put your strap loose to take out the board easy. Then practice on a chair to be instinctively with the move. It's hard to keep the right stance with your feet while the board is off. Just practice and practice, it looks pretty hard the first days then as soon as you get one it will be easier and easier.don't try to keep the board long time out of your feet during the jump. Just take out and put back. When you'll get the move then add some more time with the board off.and then you can start spinning your body and the board. But do it easy step by step.

I can do it in 1m height.
I do a Backroll boardoff...it's on the DVD.
Just a pop jump, not sending the kite back.
Not recommended, only if you are on a high level.
You just have to be quick with the rotation and board off and on, then you don't need much height.
But the higher, the slower you can rotate and make it look much smoother.
