I love power in the kite!

Postby Toby » Fri Nov 04, 2016 3:05 pm

It is just the best feeling when you have power in the kite...just pull it and off you go. The better if you can control the kite :D

Look at this jump...it is after a Beach Darkslide...interesting what height you can get after a darkslide. And even more possible if you just concentrate on the jump, and not the trick.
This is a screenshot of a Beach Darkslide Boardmosis.

Loving it...strictly hooked :thumb:

Beach Darkslide Boardmosis....haha! I love the name.

So, Toby, do you come out of your slide and onto your heelside edge before boosting? Or do you boost off the slide, from the top of your board, by just pulling in the bar? If the latter, you must be really powered.

I Darkslide on the beach, and off the Darkslide I lift off. Then into Microloop (this disciplines needs it!), then boardoff, then I throw the board behind the back and catch it with the same hand (that's why boardmosis, comes from Oxmosis).

Yes, really powered!

As you know I'm not an airstyler. But I also love to be powered up. Since i'm a conditions and terrain rider I enjoy different types of being powered.
16-18 knots on the 12m chrono on the landboard is super powered!... nice float jumps, but also with the risk of "you must land it or break your legs" precision required.
25 knots on the 10 edge punt off waves lips for boost and glide.
30-35 knots on the 8m for rip you from the water fast up and fast down jumps.
40+ knots on the 6m reo for survival kiting in monster seas.
30-40 knots in the sand dunes on the kite buggy 6m reo, absolutely sublime.

hmmmmmm...... power.

Now i'm diving into hydrofoil. Powered up is an 8m in 20 knots!!!! weird but true. But it time i'll find my powered up joy for the HF. I'm really looking forward to stupid high hf jumps in ultra light winds!
