Shorten Naish Bar

Postby runner1 » Wed Jul 25, 2018 6:28 am

Has anyone tried cutting a Naish bar shorter? I like the thin bar, seems to be easier on me my elbow than a thicker one such as Ozone. The adjustable ends, stiff chicken loop and free-er swivel are also better (for me) than the Ozone bar, but it is a bit too long.

You need to post photos of the bar.

Thanks Nikolay. I was thinking of the 2018 bar

However, I do still have an older bar like the one you have modified, if I can't work out how to do the newer one I might try that

I'm afraid all bars after 2014 are pre moldit so is impossible to do anything but if you have older one is super easy. good luck with it .🤙🤙🤙🤙

Only way is if it's not glued or co-molded. It would use a rivet or a screw. If you can't find that, you won't be able to get the ends off.

Hello Runner,
Did you figure out how to shorten the newer version bar?
I am thinking to get 8m Dash but it seems too fast to unhook with the standard 55cm sized bar.
However, there's an option to use the 50cm but I have to buy it separately, unfortunately I don't like BTB, which is the only option (I wish they had made optional Torch type trim with tubed depower line, but...).Still, even the 45- 50cm is tad bigger than what I want, hence I am looking for an option to cut it...

Slingshot are one of the few current bars that do not have integrated floats and bar ends. They are still pretty easy to cut down without ruining the OEM look of the bar.

There are plenty of lightly used ones for around $200 on:

You can get a nice short bar on eBay with soft molded ends. It's like 50$ (just the bar) Then just swap the bar and keep the long one for some larger kite that may require it in the future.
