Board width + boots size?

Postby ColdWeatherKiter » Wed Nov 07, 2018 12:10 pm

Hello all!

I am planning to upgrade to boots. However when i once tried boots on a different board, then the heels were dragging in the water. My current board is the 2017 LF element 136x41.5cm. My foot size is 44/45 eu. Do you think the board is big enough to avoid that?
Thanks!

Should be fine. I have 45/46 feet and ride boots on a 42.5 cm wide board. I have a decent amount of board past the toe and heel of the boots and do not catch my heels at all. Have had that issue with boards down around the 38 cm width. The amount of duck in your stance ( toes out wider than heels ) will affect how close the heels come to the board edge too. I think 41.5 board width is generally doable with your foot size.

Just depends on how wide it is where the boots are. 41.5cm is the widest part of the board. Try them out and if you don't like them upgrade to a bigger board. Rule of thumb is 42cm wide boards for boots though. It's really only a problem because we all ways have to edge unlike wake boarding where your mostly upright most of the time.

With boots you have a lot more leverage, so you can go wider with the board than with straps.
